Frequently Asked Q's

Our Ingredients

They are not vegetarian. Seemore sausages are made with humanely raised chicken or pork, but with up to 35% vegetables, which means you can reduce your meat consumption without giving up what you crave. Where a traditional sausage would be around 98% meat and 2% spices, water, and other fillers, Seemore sausages are made with 25-35% fresh vegetables and 55-65% meat. The rest of the sausage is filled with other clean ingredients like spices and cheese.

Our La Dolce Beet-a. Plus, it’s pink so your kids are gonna love it.

While the chicken and apple sausages or the spinach and jalapeno sausages you see on the shelves use dried vegetables and fruits (very small amounts of them), Seemore uses fresh vegetables and loads of them (up to 35%!). Our sausages proudly HIGHLIGHT vegetables instead of hiding them, adding to the flavor and fun (think our Loaded Baked Potato Sausages). Plus, vegetables lose nutrients in the dehydration process—vitamins A and C for example—and these nutrients are only further lost on cooking. Seemore’s fresh vegetables still have much of their nutrients intact, so you get the benefits of them while you enjoy your sausage!

La Dolce Beet-a, Loaded Baked Potato, Broccoli Melt, Bubbe’s Chicken Soup, Chicken Chili Verde, and Chicken Kale Pesto are all made with gluten-free ingredients. However, they are not made in certified gluten-free facilities.

Chicken Parm is not gluten free —you'll find toasty breadcrumbs in there!

Why sure! We are using 100% natural cheese from family farms located in Green Bay, Wisconsin who are dedicated to sustainability and animal welfare. They are made with simple, all natural ingredients like whole milk and salt.

Besides being lower in calories (about 20-35% less on average), we also have the added nutritional benefit of fresh vegetables, which means we are higher in things like potassium, iron and calcium as well as Vitamins A, B and C. All of our ingredients are clean, natural, and recognizable, our meat is completely antibiotic and hormone free, and we don’t add any nitrates, nitrites, phosphates, or dyes. So, yes, that pink color is real!

That is simply carrot fiber (made from 100% carrots), but the USDA is weird and makes us call it something foreign-sounding.

They’re uncured! We don’t use any lab made nitrates, nitrites or phosphates. There are naturally occurring nitrates and nitrites in ingredients like cultured celery powder and sea salt.

For our pork sausages, we use hog casing. On the chicken sausages, we use a cellulose casing that is peeled off before we package them.

Yes! All you gotta do is heat and eat!

Great question! Our sausages keep for up to six months in the freezer and we recommend you use within four days of opening if kept in the fridge.

Our sausages are completely soy and nut-free but our production facility produces other products that contain allergens including Wheat (Gluten), Soy, Milk, Mustard, Eggs, and Sulfites. All items produced with these allergens are made at the end of the day, so to avoid any cross-contamination. After the use of any of these allergens, strict clean-up measures are taken to decontaminate the areas.

Our Meat

Our meat is not organic, it is certified humanely raised by Global Animal Partnership. We made the decision that humanely treating animals was the most important thing to us, and the farms we felt best about from a humane standpoint were not certified organic. That said, we are always pushing to improve our product, so expect to see some organic claims in the future.

GAP stands for Global Animal Partnership, which is an animal welfare labeling program verified by audits conducted on every farm to ensure that animals are being treated humanely. They used a rigorously enforced tiered labeling system, signaling to consumers how the animals were raised. The higher the number, the more the animal’s environment mimics a natural environment. GAP is different from other animal welfare programs because they audit each and every farm every 15 months through different seasons and across production life cycles.

Our pork is GAP 1 which means farms are required to have bedding for the pigs, minimum space to let the pigs move around easily, a limitation to slatted floors, and prohibits docking or de-tusking which is traumatic and painful to the animals.

Our chicken is GAP 3 which means the chickens have outdoor access, more space, additional enrichments to their living environments like natural light and shaded outdoor areas, and can only spend a maximum of eight hours in transportation.

As we grow, we are committed to continuously improving the quality of all of our ingredients. You can feel good knowing though that for a farm to even qualify for a GAP rating at all, their standards for humane-handling have to be far and above any mass-produced livestock.

Our Impact

Seemore is a social-impact company that is dedicated to great products, sustainability and good jobs. All of our meat is certified humanely-raised and we offset a portion of our emissions by purchasing carbon credits through Native Energy. We work with vendors who are committed to providing living wages and benefits to their staff, and we pay our own staff 30% better than industry standard wages, with full benefits and paid professional development. You can feel good about our product from ingredients to packaging. Basically, you’ll want to see how our sausages get made and still want to eat them!

Check with your local municipality, but for most places you can recycle the plastic wherever you recycle plastic shopping bags.

The USDA has strict rules when it comes to what packaging materials meat companies are allowed to use.

Our bands are printed with plant-based inks and the paper is sourced from mills certified from the Sustainable Forestry Initiative.
